2023 Interior Design Trends | Brutalist Decor (Part 1 of 4)

Four Budding Interior Design Trends I'm Planning to Put my Spin on This Year

Design: Hackett House Studio | Photograph: Natalie Folchi

Hi friends! I'm back today to talk about one of my favorite topics, interior design trends! Some of my most-read posts here on the Hackett House Studio Blog are the ones in which I share what's trending in the world of interior design.

A design trend can be many things. It can be a new color that's popping up everywhere, a style of furniture that's ever-evolving and finding new uses, or simply an old material used in fresh, new ways. In my line of work as an interior designer, I consider it my personal mission to not only stay on top of what's trending, but also to use my position in the industry to influence what's coming next. As I work with clients who want me to help them create unique interiors that are tailored to their distinctive personalities, it becomes necessary to explore ideas that haven't been explored yet, or to find ways to reinvent old ideas and make them new again.

It's this continuous process of exploration that leads to a design trend being born. Therefore, I'm excited to share with you five design trends that I'm planning to put my spin on in 2023. Let's get into it!

When it comes to decor, things are getting more edgy (literally), utilitarian and raw. These pieces have a somewhat menacing feel to them which can provide balance to spaces that might be too feminine or soft. They're great conversation pieces and you'll love the thrill of the hunting these pieces down at flea markets and antique stores.
